Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank is hiring a Legal Counsel to provide litigation focused services on-site at the ADIB HQ in Abu Dhabi, reporting to the Head of Corporate Legal Services. You will assign cases to external lawyers, maintain and update case records in the E-Case system, liaise with government authorities, coordinate litigation requests with business units, conduct legal research, and support court expert witness processes. The ideal candidate holds a law degree, 3-5 years in a similar role, fluent in Arabic and English, with strong legal analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills. Role Purpose:
To provide legal services for litigation matters.
Key Accountabilities of the role
Reporting to Head of Corporate Legal Services, key responsibilities include the following:
- Assign Cases to external lawyers and follow up.
- Responsible for creating & updating case records on the E-Case system as well as case files.
- Liaising with governments authorities and provide information on cases as requested.
- Follow up with external lawyers on execution cases and liaise with government authorities.
- Coordinate all litigation requests with business units and provide relevant information.
- Conduct and undertake legal research as requested from time to time.
- Assisting on court expert witness meetings and liaising with business to provide with any information requested by the experts.
- Follow up and update Business on court matters and instruct external lawyers to attend court hearings for and on behalf of the Bank and provide advice on civil litigation concerning the bank.
