H&M Group is looking for a Legal Counsel for the Sales Market NL/BE/LUX in Amsterdam. Job Description

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

As a Legal Counsel, you ensure compliance with legal standards, safeguard the organisation through sound legal judgement, and support business decision‑making across the Sales Market. You guide stakeholders on legal requirements, draft and review agreements, manage risks and contribute to strong governance practices. 

You will: 

  • Set and enforce legal standards, templates and strategies. 
  • Negotiate, draft and review contracts and agreements, including lease agreements. 
  • Conduct judicial enquiries, due‑diligence processes and identify legal risks and consequences. 
  • Stay up to date with global and local legal requirements and support the market in applying them. 
  • Support tendering processes and safeguard the company in contractual matters. 
  • Handle and settle disputes and legal matters. 
  • Set and implement routines for documentation, contracting and administration together with internal stakeholders.

You will work closely with Sales Market Leadership, Sales Market Controllers, Account Managers, Commercial and Expansion teams, as well as Global Legal. You will collaborate with decisionmakers across departments to ensure legal compliance, mitigate risks and support business aims. 

WHO YOU ARE 

We are looking for people with… 

  • A legal degree. 
  • 3–5 years of legal experience, ideally with exposure to leasing or real estate (meriting but not required). 
  • Experience in coaching, supporting and inspiring team members. 

And people who are… 

  • Strong communicators, both written and verbal, comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders. 
  • Skilled in risk assessment and articulating consequences to decision‑makers. 
  • Confident in making decisions in ambiguous situations and under tight timelines. 
  • Structured, analytical and detail‑oriented.
