NZSki is seeking a Night Lift Operator to join Coronet Peak or The Remarkables, where you greet guests, assist on and off chairlifts, check tickets, manage queues, operate lift machinery, and participate in lift evacuations and de-icing as needed. The role also covers car park and chain fitting duties, with training provided. You must be high-energy, friendly, physically fit, and have at least one year of frontline customer service, plus the ability to work unsupervised under pressure. Preference for alpine experience; skiing or snowboarding in intermediate terrain is required. Lifties are the face of our mountain, everyone who skis or rides at NZSki during the season will interact with a Lift Operator. We are therefore seeking fun-loving personalities with an affinity for operating machinery safely who can multi-task with a smile on their face in a blizzard. If this sounds like you then read on!
About the role
• Meeting and greeting all guests who ride a chairlift
• Assisting guests on and off chairlifts safely and in accordance with procedures
• Providing additional assistance to those who may require it
• Checking tickets for authenticity
• Queue management and the ability to plan for busy periods
• Operating lift machinery
• Participating in training for lift evacuations and de-icing chairlifts, and carrying out these tasks safely and effectively during the season if required
• Car park duties
• Assisting with chain fitting services
• Based at Coronet Peak or The Remarkables (you can select your preference when you apply!)
About You
• High levels of energy - you must be FUN!
• Previous alpine environment experience would be an asset
• At least 1-year front line customer service experience with total commitment to the guest service experience
• Proven ability to work unsupervised along with the ability to work under pressure in a team environment
• The ability to quickly build a rapport with all guests and staff, coupled with strong teamwork skills
• Excellent personal presentation as well as extremely punctual and reliable
• Physically fit
• Health & safety conscious and a good record in this area
• Applicants should be flexible and be willing to help in other departments at times
• Applicants need to be able to ski or snowboard in all weather conditions on intermediate terrain
• Applicants must be comfortable working outside in an alpine environment in a variety of weather conditions and available for early shifts as required
• An understanding that employment is subject to the vagaries of the weather and the hours of work cannot be guaranteed

• Please note: This role is based at Coronet Peak with part time hours for our night ski operations
• Mechanical experience is not required, as full training will be given although interest in this area is considered an advantage
