Key Responsibilities
· Safely operate rubber-tired or crawler-type loaders equipped with scoop-type buckets to excavate, move, and load materials.
· Load trucks, manage material from stockpiles, and charge batch plants, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of materials to support project needs.
· Maintain constant communication and visual contact with team members to ensure safety, especially when maneuvering equipment in tight spaces.
· Perform daily pre- and post-operation equipment inspections, documenting findings as required by company standards.
· Conduct routine servicing and minor maintenance; escalate significant repairs to the Foreman.
· Adhere strictly to all company policies, OSHA, and MSHA safety regulations.
· Support and mentor less-experienced team members in equipment operation and safety practices.
· Assist with general labor duties as needed to ensure project success.
What We’re Looking For
· High school diploma or GED required.
· Proven experience operating loaders or similar heavy equipment in a construction setting.
· Ability to lift up to 100 pounds unassisted when necessary.
· Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a professional, courteous attitude.
· Commitment to teamwork, open communication, and helping others achieve their best.
· Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
· Flexibility to work nights, weekends, travel, and overtime as project needs demand.
· Comfortable with physical requirements such as climbing, stretching, sitting for extended periods, and working on rough terrain.
· Strict adherence to all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE.
· Must be at least 18 years old due to the nature of the work environment.
Requirements
· Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.
· Ability to pass a “Fit for Work” physical examination.
· Provide valid I-9 documentation for employment eligibility.
· Physical & Work Environment Requirements
· · Frequently required to climb, balance, and perform tasks involving physical agility.
· · Regularly sit, climb, and use hand signals or equipment; occasionally stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, or reach above shoulder height.
· · Lift and move objects weighing up to 25-50 lbs as needed.
· · Work primarily outdoors, often in extreme weather and environmental conditions.
· · Comfortable working in all weather conditions; exposed to jobsite hazards such as moving machinery, high places, airborne particles, and loud environments.
· · Must have specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, to operate equipment safely.
