Colas Canada’s Miller Group is seeking a Loader Operator in Pickering to support on-site construction and winter operations by safely maneuvering loaders to load plow trucks, maintain stockpiles, and perform pre-operational checks and routine maintenance. The role requires a valid driver’s license with a clean abstract, prior loader experience, mechanical knowledge and the ability to work on-call, with extra value given to candidates who have experience operating other heavy equipment or winter works. In your application, highlight hands-on maintenance, fluid checks, safety training, and a track record of keeping maintenance records, plus examples of teamwork and adaptability to on-site priorities. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
  • Previous experience operating a loader
  • Mechanical knowledge and experience with general equipment maintenance
  • Ability to work on an on-call basis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in other heavy equipment operation
  • Previous Winter Works Experience

Day in the Life

Your responsibilities will include safely manoeuvring equipment to perform tasks such as loading plow trucks, maintaining stockpiles, and lifting materials. You’ll also be responsible for performing all fluid level checks and conducting routine maintenance on the equipment, cleaning, servicing, and performing minor repairs to ensure optimal performance.
