Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment in an effective and safe manner working directly with your team
  • Follow safety precautions, procedures, and policies.
  • Perform daily service and preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner and be willing to comply with Lavis’ safety commitments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

PLEASE NOTE  - This is a Union position (OE 793) and the successful candidate MUST be a current member in good standing or willing to join

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Mainline Excavator Operator installing Municipal Infrastructure as well as using a trench box
  • Experience digging around underground utilities including Gas, Fibre Optics and Hydro
  • Experience with GPS equipment is considered an asset
  • Strong understanding of grading, trenching, and excavation techniques
  • Knowledge of equipment maintenance and safety procedures
  • Minimum of a valid Ontario G driver’s licence is required.
  • Daily exposure to construction environment.
  • Mechanically inclined will be considered an asset.
  • Ability to perform effective verbal and written instructions.
  • AZ/DZ Licence is considered an asset. Possibility of AZ licence training for the right candidate.
  • Flexible hours required to meet project timelines.

Compensation Data

$44.07 as per the OE 793 Collective Agreement
