About the team: At Arcavindi, our Facilities Team keeps our Netherlands sites running smoothly, safely, and efficiently every day. We look after the buildings, equipment, and working environment so our operational teams can focus on caring for customer-owned vintage items.
From maintaining storage areas and workshops to supporting office spaces and shared facilities, we’re hands-on problem solvers who take pride in creating a site that’s reliable, compliant, and pleasant to work in. We collaborate closely with Logistics, Appraisals, and external contractors to make sure the building supports every stage of our customer journey.
About the role:As a Facilities Operative (General Maintenance), you’ll play a key role in keeping our Netherlands buildings operational, safe, and well-maintained. With a trade background, you’ll carry out day-to-day repairs, planned preventative maintenance, and small improvement projects.
You’ll respond to maintenance needs across the sites, handling common plumbing, electrical, and general building tasks yourself, and working with specialist contractors when required. This is a practical, varied, and highly visible role — ideal for someone who enjoys keeping things running, spotting issues before they escalate, and taking ownership of site standards.

Getting Started...
- Spend time learning the Arcavindi sites layout, key systems, and high-traffic operational areas.
- Complete training on site safety, permits to work, reporting tools, and sign-off procedures.
- Get familiar with planned maintenance schedules, statutory inspections, and internal service standards.
- Build working relationships with operational teams so you understand their day-to-day maintenance needs.

Key Goals & Objectives:
- Deliver high-quality, timely maintenance and repairs across plumbing, electrics, and general facilities.
- Reduce downtime by proactively identifying and resolving potential issues before they impact operations.
- Maintain clear, accurate records of maintenance work and materials used.
- Uphold Arcavindi’s health & safety standards through safe systems of work and site compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general building maintenance, including:
- Plumbing repairs (leaks, blockages, pipework, fittings).
- Basic electrical work (fault-finding, replacing fittings, minor installations).
- General repairs (doors, locks, fixtures, flooring, shelving, and site upkeep).
- Assembly of new storage and furniture items (shelving, desks etc).
- Installation of basic IT systems/wiring throughout the workplace.
- Complete routine inspections and planned preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests, prioritising tasks to minimise operational disruption.
- Work alongside external contractors for specialist or larger projects, ensuring work is safe, compliant, and signed off.
- Maintain orderly, safe storage of tools, materials, and maintenance areas, keeping workspaces clean and secure.
- Report hazards, near-misses, and required follow-up work through Arcavindi’s internal reporting systems.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of tools, equipment and report any tool repairs required.
- Knowledge of health & safety requirements and reporting of defective materials in a timely manner.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Proven hands-on experience in a trade environment (plumbing and/or electrical preferred).
- Ability to diagnose and resolve common building and site issues efficiently.
- Hold an current driving licence valid for the Netherlands and comfortably be able to drive safely a work van for transporting of materials.
- Good awareness of workplace health & safety practices and safe systems of work.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and confident working independently or as part of a wider team.
- Clear, practical communication skills to work smoothly with colleagues, managers, and contractors.
- Comfortable in a physically active role involving lifting, carrying, bending, and hands-on repairs.
