Vancouver Coastal Health seeks Maintenance Worker 5 onsite in Vancouver. The role spans journeyman level trades including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and welding, with duties to maintain and repair facilities and equipment and to support the Rapid Response Team. Requirements: Grade 10 plus four years of related experience or an equivalent education training mix, plus proven communication and teamwork, and the physical ability to perform hands-on work and operate relevant equipment. JOB SUMMARY:Within the context of a complex health care system and in accordance with the policies, values and guidelines of Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH), the Maintenance Worker 5 performs trades duties approaching the journeyman level in a variety of trades’ areas such as electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and welding. Performs maintenance and repair duties related to buildings and equipment and performs mechanical and electrical repairs to equipment and systems. Participates on the Rapid Response Team and as a member of the Maintenance team, he/she will assist other team members in their duties to ensure a timely and complete delivery of service to our clients. Persons in this role must be prepared to act in various capacities, supporting maintenance in general terms. In this role he/she will be required to have excellent skills as a customer service advocate, accelerating the resolution of customer concerns.
