We are recruiting a Management Accountant to join our finance team in Southampton.

This is a key role responsible for delivering high-quality management reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, and providing insightful analysis to support business performance across CLC and the wider group.

You will work closely with the Finance Leadership Team and partner with operational and commercial stakeholders to translate financial data into clear, actionable insight within a national, multi-site environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts with clear variance analysis and commentary.
  • Analyse margin, cost and overhead performance to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Provide actionable financial insight to operational and commercial stakeholders.
  • Support robust month-end close processes and reporting accuracy.
  • Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, strengthening financial controls.
  • Contribute to budgeting and reforecasting processes.
  • Deliver financial modelling, scenario analysis and business case support.
  • Monitor and improve working capital performance.
  • Collaborate with wider finance teams to ensure consistent and aligned reporting.
  • Identify and implement reporting and process improvements.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Qualified, part-qualified (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) or qualified by experience.
  • Strong experience preparing management accounts within a commercial environment.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality financial analysis and clear variance commentary.
  • Advanced Excel skills (including XLOOKUP, pivot tables and structured financial modelling).
  • Experience partnering with operational or commercial stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of balance sheet reconciliations and working capital principles.
  • Highly organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities to deadline.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable

  • Experience within property services, construction, maintenance or similar contract-led environments.
  • Exposure to multi-entity or group reporting structures.
  • Experience supporting budgeting or reforecasting cycles.
