Emarat is seeking a Manager, Business Assurance to lead audits across Retail, Aviation, Fuel Operations, Supply & Trading and more, ensuring robust risk management, regulatory compliance and asset protection. Job Purpose:
Lead and manage assurance activities across Emarat’s core operational and commercial businesses to ensure effective risk management, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and safeguarding of assets across the value chain.
Core Responsibilities:
• Lead audits across Retail, Aviation, Fuel Operations, Supply & Trading, Lubricants, LPG, Natural Gas, Marketing, Loyalty Programs, and Joint Ventures.
• Evaluate operational processes, commercial arrangements, revenue streams, and contract compliance.
• Assess operational, safety, financial, and regulatory risks and the effectiveness of mitigating controls.
• Review compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Develop audit plans and programs aligned with risk priorities and business complexity.
• Supervise audit teams during planning and fieldwork, ensuring high-quality execution and documentation.
• Engage with operational and commercial management to communicate audit objectives, findings, and recommendations.
• Facilitate constructive discussions to drive ownership and timely implementation of improvements.
• Review audit reports and ensure findings are clearly articulated, balanced, and actionable.
• Track and validate the closure of audit issues and corrective actions.
• Support the development of operational audit skills within the Internal Audit team.
• Share insights on emerging operational and commercial risks to support continuous improvement.
Quality & Excellence Management:
• Ensure operational and commercial audits are executed in line with approved quality standards, safety requirements, and Internal Audit methodologies.
• Apply quality assurance principles to evaluate the effectiveness, efficiency, and reliability of operational processes and controls.
• Review audit work and reports to ensure findings are evidence-based, balanced, and aligned with operational excellence and compliance expectations.
• Identify opportunities to enhance operational performance, risk management, and control effectiveness across Emarat’s core business activities.
• Promote continuous improvement by tracking recurring operational issues and supporting management in implementing sustainable corrective actions.
• Ensure audit outcomes support safety, reliability, service quality, and regulatory compliance across operational and commercial areas.
• Contribute to refining audit approaches, checklists, and sector-specific audit practices to enhance audit quality and relevance.
• Support quality monitoring of audit follow-ups to ensure timely and effective closure of audit findings.
People Management Responsibilities:
• Lead and motivate the audit team by fostering a collaborative work environment that encourages open communication, sets clear expectations for performance, and recognizes individual and team achievements to enhance overall morale and productivity.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations that provide constructive feedback and identify professional development opportunities, ensuring that team members have specific, measurable goals and access to training sessions that address skill gaps and promote their career growth.
• Manage resource allocation effectively by assessing project needs, balancing workloads among team members, and optimizing the use of budgetary resources to ensure that audit projects are adequately staffed and funded to achieve their objectives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management and other departments, by effectively communicating audit findings, fostering collaboration, and ensuring that audit objectives are aligned with the broader organizational goals.
• Promote a culture of compliance and ethical behavior within the team by ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and standards, providing guidance on ethical practices, encouraging transparency in audit processes, and addressing any compliance issues promptly and effectively.
