Tauranga City Council seeks a senior communications and engagement leader to head the Communications and Engagement Partnering function, guiding a team of Lead Communications & Engagement Partners and serving as the trusted advisor to General Managers on complex, politically sensitive conversations. Ngā Pukenga | What you’ll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring around 8 to 10 years’ experience in communications, engagement or public relations, backed by a relevant qualification, and at least 3 years leading people or partnering at a senior level. You’ve thrived leading complex, high-risk or politically sensitive work, and you know your way around local government, statutory consultation and political environments. You’re a clear and confident communicator who loves coaching others to be at their best, can prioritise across competing demands, and builds strong relationships wherever you go, including with iwi and our diverse communities.
