Ngā Pukenga | What you’ll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring around 8 to 10 years’ experience in communications, engagement or public relations, backed by a relevant qualification, and at least 3 years leading people or partnering at a senior level. You’ve thrived leading complex, high-risk or politically sensitive work, and you know your way around local government, statutory consultation and political environments. You’re a clear and confident communicator who loves coaching others to be at their best, can prioritise across competing demands, and builds strong relationships wherever you go, including with iwi and our diverse communities. An understanding of Te Tiriti-based practice is important to us. If you’re ready to lead work that genuinely shapes a city, this is your opportunity.
