Mashreq is seeking a Payments Lead to oversee the bank’s critical payment processing platforms with a focus on Instant Payment Platforms. You will manage platform transition from UAT through Prod, develop migration playbooks and contingency plans, and ensure readiness via dry runs and data masking. You will provide functional and technical oversight of payment workflows, OBP configurations, and legacy-to-modern migrations, while coordinating across business, operations and compliance and serving as the primary migration contact. Essential expertise includes instant payments, UAE payment systems, ISO 20022, Oracle Banking Platform, Java and UI technologies, microservices, and DevOps. When applying, demonstrate end to end delivery in migrations, strong stakeholder management, measurable outcomes, and readiness for onsite UAE work.


The Payments Lead will be responsible for managing the bank’s critical payments processing platforms, with a key focus on overseeing the development and deployment activities for Instant Payment Platforms. The role requires strong leadership, domain expertise, and coordination across business, technology, and vendor teams to ensure seamless transition and continued operational excellence.

Platform Transition Management:

  • Oversee environment setup and validation across UAT, Pre-Prod, and Prod.
  • Develop migration playbooks, timelines, and contingency plans.
  • Ensure readiness through dry-run execution and data masking.

Functional & Technical Oversight:

  • Lead payment workflow mapping and migration.
  • Collaborate on OBP module configuration tailored to bank-specific needs.
  • Review customizations for compliance and validate specs from legacy systems.

Cross-Team Collaboration:

  • Engage with business, operations, and compliance teams for requirement gathering.
  • Act as the primary contact for migration-related queries.
  • Drive UAT planning and execution, and support country-specific workshops.
  • Payments Expertise: Strong domain knowledge in instant payments, UAE local payment systems, and ISO 20022 standards.
  • Solutioning Experience: Ability to design and validate end-to-end payment solutions, perform gap analysis, and lead legacy-to-modern migrations.
  • OBP Knowledge: Familiarity with Oracle Banking Platform modules and customizations.
  • Technical Awareness: Working knowledge of Java, UI technologies (e.g., Angular/React), microservices architecture, and DevOps practices.
  • Project Management: Skilled in environment setup, migration planning, dry-run execution, and cutover coordination.
  • Collaboration & Leadership: Experience working with cross-functional teams, leading workshops, and managing UAT and business sign-offs.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving abilities.
