This internship offers a hands-on R&D experience in optics and mechanics at SICK Sensor Intelligence in Waldkirch near Freiburg, focusing on 2D and 3D vision sensors, camera systems and barcode readers for a winter semester project lasting 3 to 6 months onsite. You will build measurement setups and program control sequences using MATLAB or Arduino, conduct tests, evaluate tolerances, and create technical documentation while analyzing results with MATLAB and designing precision mechanical assemblies. Ideal candidates are studying optics and photonics, mechatronics, physics, microsystems engineering, or mechanical engineering and bring MATLAB, Arduino, CAD or simulation tool experience. Apply with a tailored CV and cover letter, emphasize your topic preference, and contact Sarah Disch.
