Job Summary
The Manual Grind Machinist at Triumph Geared Solutions - Macomb is responsible for the operation and basic maintenance of Manual grind machines in the Grind Department. The Manual Grind Machinist must be able to produce high-quality products according to Triumph Gear Systems Grind department operations manual.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Clock in & out of appropriate job operations
- Read, interpret, and produce machined dimensions from information on engineering drawings
- Adhere to job plans per job travelers
- Set up multiple types of jobs with fixtures
- Operate Manual ID / OD / Surface grind, Lap, and associated machines
- Basic Maintenance of Manual Grinders
- Use precision measurement equipment to ensure first piece and production quality
- Install and maintain grinding wheels
- Adhere to directions and instructions of team leader
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Post-Secondary Machining Related Certificate or degree preferred
- 2+ years of Manual Grind Operations
- Self-directed problem solver
- Positive attitude
- Ability to communicate and work with others in a team environment
Physical Requirements
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to use hand tools
