We are looking for talented Manufacturing Operators to join our Manufacturing team within the Genset department at Cummins in Daventry, UK.
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week on a weekly rotating shift pattern:
- Morning shift: Monday to Friday 6:45am – 2:45pm
- Afternoon shift: Monday–Thursday 3:00pm – 11:00pm; Friday 3:00pm – 10:30pm
Starting salary: £27,942.00 per annum + shift allowance for afternoon shift

Job Overview
As a Manufacturing Operator, you will be responsible for assembling and wiring diesel and gas generator electrical components using electrical drawings, engineering standards, and accepted engineering principles across a range of product lines.
In this role, you will:
- Operate manufacturing machinery and production equipment safely, ensuring quality and productivity standards are met with minimal supervision.
- Assemble and wire diesel and gas generator electrical components to specification.
- Interpret and work from electrical drawings, engineering documentation, and work instructions.
- Complete quality checks accurately and ensure all stage process documentation is completed correctly.
- Maintain high quality standards in line with business requirements.
- Report any issues or concerns within your work area to your supervisor promptly.
- Liaise with supervisors to support the smooth and efficient running of production.
- Be flexible and support different areas within the Genset department based on production volumes and business priorities.
- Complete all required daily checks, including 5S housekeeping and crane inspections.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Previous assembly or factory experience beneficial.
- Mechanical/ Electrical background (fitting components).
- Ability to work under their own initiative within the recognized process.
- Ability to self-manage in order to achieve production targets.
Education/ Experience:
- High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
- Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
