Auckland Council's Property Department has an exciting opportunity for a Marina Operations Cadet to join our Marinas team — and we'd love for that person to be you. If you've always wanted to build a career in the marine industry, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

As part of our structured cadet programme, you'll learn from experienced marina professionals while gaining hands-on experience across three of Auckland's marinas — Westhaven, Silo and ACM.

You'll rotate through different areas of the business; from marina operations and maintenance through to customer service, administration and dock operations — developing the practical skills and knowledge needed for a long-term career in the industry, and getting to know each of our sites and the people who make them work.

Unlike many entry-level roles, this isn't just a job. It's an investment in your future. You'll be employed permanently while completing a nationally recognised Level 4 Certificate in Marina Facilities and Marina Operations — learning, earning, and growing alongside a team who are genuinely excited to bring you into the fold.

No two days are the same, and no two marinas are either. One day you could be assisting customers at Westhaven, the next supporting vessel movements at the Silo, or learning how ACM operates behind the scenes.

Day-to-day you could expect to work on:

• Learning all aspects of marina operations through structured on-the-job training across Westhaven, Silo and ACM.
• Supporting marina maintenance, facilities and day-to-day operational activities.
• Assisting customers, berth holders and visitors while delivering exceptional customer service.
• Working alongside Dockmasters and experienced marina professionals to keep our marinas safe, welcoming and operating efficiently.
• Completing a nationally recognised qualification while building practical skills across multiple sites and areas of the business.
