As a Marketing Manager, Commonwealth Private, you will lead the development and delivery of Private Banking marketing initiatives that drive growth and deepen engagement across our high-value client base. You will translate customer insights into impactful go-to-market activity that builds awareness, consideration, engagement and share of wallet.

Consumer Marketing is a Centre of Excellence (CoE) within the Marketing and Corporate Affairs function at CommBank.

The Wealth and Private Marketing team works as a strategic partner to the Private Bank. As part of the team, you will bring a strong customer lens to shape initiatives that are highly relevant, differentiated, and commercially effective.

You will work both with Marketing and with the Wealth and Private business function to ensure Private Banking marketing priorities are embedded early in planning and that initiatives and campaigns are executed with cut‑through across ATL, BTL and owned channels.

Key responsibilities

On any given day, you will:

  • Translate business objectives into clear, insight‑led marketing communications and go‑to‑market plans
  • Lead end‑to‑end delivery of marketing projects, from brief to execution and post‑campaign review, ensuring activity drives awareness, consideration, engagement or retention outcomes.
  • Shape personalised customer communications and content - from ideation and briefing through to execution, optimisation and performance tracking
  • Apply deep customer understanding to prioritise moments, channels and messages that matter most.
  • Partner closely with Product, Data & Analytics, Media, Brand & Creative and Digital teams through cross‑functional squads and forums to influence strategy and execution
  • Manage external agency partners to deliver quality creative that is fit‑for‑platform and aligned to the Commonwealth Private marketing strategy
  • Govern delivery through established marketing processes (e.g. briefs, approvals, Workfront, RACI) to ensure compliance, quality and speed to market
  • Track performance and use insights to optimise activity and inform optimisations.

We’d love to hear from people who have:

  • Developed project management, analytical and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience delivering 1:1 communication within a regulated environment, with the ability to navigate governance and processes to achieve customer outcomes.
  • Experience with social media including strategy, launching platform, management and reporting.
  • Experience with content creation from ideation through to management, delivery and approvals.
  • Ability to apply knowledge to ensure best practice, governance with emphasis on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to create positive outcomes with a can-do attitude.
  • Creative thinker with a problem-solving and growth mindset. 
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a marketing generalist or marketing communications role.
  • Experience in financial services marketing preferred but not essential.
