Loft Orbital's Mechanical Engineering Intern role in Abu Dhabi invites you to own a defined project from day one on a local honeycomb panel supplier qualification, with ECSS standards, drawings, manufacturing steps, NDT and DT testing, and a qualification package. You'll deliver a technical report, a supplier recommendation, NDT/DT results, and the vendor package, and present outcomes to leadership. This is not a shadowing programme; it’s hands on and cross functional, designed for someone pursuing Mechanical Engineering with an interest in aerospace materials and manufacturing. To apply, tailor your resume to show hands on project work, aerospace materials exposure, QA, ECSS familiarity, and any NDT/DT experience, and include a concise technical sample.
The Opportunity
Orbitworks is a sovereign aerospace and advanced technology company in the UAE. We build and test real satellite systems — and our interns work on projects that matter from day one. This is not a shadowing programme. You will own a defined project, work alongside experienced engineers and business professionals, and present outcomes to leadership.
What You'll Do
Trade-off study and selection of a local honeycomb panel supplier. The project covers compiling panel drawings, identifying manufacturing operations, evaluating potential suppliers against ECSS standards, validating vendor processes through coupon/sample fabrication, performing NDT & DTs on panels, and generating a qualification report.
