Job Description

 

  • Prepare detailed BOQs for piping works, including spool fabrication and erection, with clear breakdowns by dia-inch, spool count, fabricated spools, painted spools, NDE cleared spools, PWHT completed, and other relevant scope items. Ensure continuous and accurate progress updates, maintaining data integrity throughout the project.
  • Prepare detailed BOQs for specialized piping services such as painting, insulation, bolt torquing/tensioning, coatings, galvanizing, and other value-added services. Prepare MTOs to support procurement and construction.
  • Conduct accurate and detailed MTOs by thoroughly reviewing the SoW, P&IDs, and other relevant engineering documents. Ensure all required materials are captured, including specialty items that may not be explicitly shown on isometric drawings. These may include, but are not limited to spring supports, struts, rain hoods, bird screens, sliding plates, neoprene sheets, pickling paste, U-bolts, mechanical interlocks, car seal chains, quick couplings, hoses, hose reels, and other project-specific materials essential for procurement and cost estimation.
  • Collaborate closely with construction teams, subcontractors, and quality control personnel to identify and resolve discrepancies or errors in progress reports.
  • Develop comprehensive and well-organized reports detailing executed quantities, remaining quantities, progress metrics, and any additional information required by management for decision-making.
  • Review and validate subcontractor invoices to ensure claimed quantities match completed work, contract terms, approved BOQs, and project scope before payment approval.
  • Oversee piping materials management, including purchase requests, order placements, deliveries, issuance, and stock availability. Maintain detailed logs and reconciliation sheets to track material movement and promptly identify shortages or surpluses.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a Piping Quantity Surveyor in oil and gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of piping materials commonly used in oil and gas projects.
  • Proficient in interpreting isometric drawings, P&IDs, painting specifications, insulation specification, and other piping-related technical documentation.
  • Basic working knowledge of AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
