The MRD Assistant assembles patients’ health information, make sure that patients’ initial medical charts are complete, all forms are completed and properly identified and signed, and that all necessary information is saved in the system

  • Maintains patient chart folders and retrieves medical records upon request from clinical and non-clinical requestors. 

  • To receive medical records and to arrange and file them in the appropriate location

  • To assemble and process records as per recommended procedures.

  • Identifies errors in the master patient index (MPI) and initiates corrective measures according to established procedures.

  • Keeps health care providers informed by communicating availability or unavailability of the record. 

  • Keeps the head of department informed of problems or issues; monitors supplies needed; performs other duties as assigned. 

  • To be capable to work in all units of medical records and to carry out the work of that unit as per recommended procedures.

  • Prepare files for the scanning process.

  • Understand and follow department’s organizational policies and procedures.

  • To maintain confidentiality of patient information and prevent disclosure to unauthorized persons.

  • To release information to the patient/authorized persons as per the requests

  • Perform periodic inspections of materials or files in order to ensure correct placement, legibility, and proper condition
  • Exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality in maintaining critical and sensitive information, records, and reports
  • Any Diploma or High School Certificate

  • Minimum 1-2 year in a similar organization
