Hill International is looking for an on-site MEP Construction Manager in Abu Dhabi to lead MEP construction supervision, coordinate all MEP trades, oversee testing and commissioning, and drive contractor performance while ensuring compliance with project specs, safety and quality standards and timely delivery. You will manage the Construction Supervision Consultant and specialist trades such as FLS, ELV, BMS and Security, coordinate with QAQC and HSE, and represent the Employer and PMC at inspections, while assessing risks and regulatory impacts and guiding variations. Requirements: Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree, 15+ years in new build or MEP projects with local authority experience in Abu Dhabi, and PM consultancy life cycle work. Leads and manages MEP construction supervision, ensuring effective coordination of all MEP systems and specialist trades. Oversees testing, commissioning, and contractor performance, monitors deliverables, and assesses technical variations, risks, and regulatory impacts. Represents the employer and PMC during inspections, ensures compliance with project specifications, safety, and quality standards, and supports timely project delivery while maintaining adherence to organizational policies.

  • Manage and lead Construction Supervision Consultant (MEP) and monitor the deliverables of consultant.
  • Support and supervise various MEP trades, especially specialists (FLS, ELV, BMS, Security, Access Control, etc.)
  • Supervise and coordinate with QAQC and HSE Managers to ensure goals are met.
  • Manage and coordinate testing and commissioning.
  • Manage Commissioning Agents activities.
  • Represent Employer and PMC on-site for Authority inspections and approvals.
  • Identify, Assess, and prioritize the risk to the project, and report the consequences.
  • Technically assess the MEP variations /Value Engineering /engineer instructions /changes in regulation by local authorities and advise on cost and time impact.
  • Evaluate MEP contractor performance.
  • Monitor the planned submissions dates and records delays if any and follow up materials procurements and delivery.
  • Informs themselves of the relevant Quality, Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals and Procedures in place within Hill International, and ensures continued compliance with these requirements while employed by Hill.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 15 or more years of experience in New Build / Construction/ MEP projects, with extensive experience in dealing with local authorities in Abu Dhabi
  • Experienced dealing with MEP Contractors and Subcontractors.
  • Strong technical background in MEP projects and should have at least 2 full life cycle project experience working on a Project Management Consultancy team.
  • Background working on commercial, residential and / or industrial construction projects.
  • Good understanding of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and low-voltage systems.
  • General understanding of Building Codes, Mechanical Codes, Electrical Codes and Plumbing Codes as they relate to the construction of the project.
  • Familiar will local authority's requirements and procedures
  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in the organization and supervision of the installation, testing and commissioning of MEP in the project under construction, and specifically in systems for public health, ventilation, fire protection, power supply and distribution, building automatic systems, communication systems, and other low current systems.
