Position Overview

We are seeking a Metal Fabrication Welder to support the production of custom metal products in a fabrication shop. This hands-on role includes MIG welding, grinding, and finishing fabricated components such as stairs, railings, and other miscellaneous metal products.

We're looking for someone who takes pride in producing quality work, works well in a team environment, and is eager to continue developing their fabrication skills. Candidates with limited experience but a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG welding on custom metal fabrication projects, including stairs, railings, and miscellaneous metal components.
  • Grind, clean, and finish welded assemblies to meet quality and appearance standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and technical documents to complete assigned work.
  • Operate an overhead crane to safely move materials and completed assemblies throughout the shop.
  • Inspect finished welds and fabricated parts for defects, dimensional accuracy, and overall quality.
  • Operate welding equipment safely while following established fabrication procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area.
  • Complete assigned work within production schedules while maintaining quality workmanship.
  • Collaborate with coworkers to support daily fabrication and production goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience performing MIG welding.
  • Experience using welding equipment and common metal fabrication techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and fabrication documents.
  • Basic math and geometry skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to produce high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Reliable attendance, self-motivation, and a positive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Welding Certification.
  • Experience fabricating stairs, stair stringers, porches, railings, or miscellaneous metal products.
  • Previous experience working in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.
