High Tech Genesis Inc is hiring a Network Lab Deployment Technician in Ottawa for a full time onsite role. You will support the installation, deployment and maintenance of networking equipment in a lab environment, focusing on hardware installation, basic device provisioning, cabling and preparing test environments for engineering teams. Responsibilities include installing and rack mounting gear, configuring hostnames and IP addresses, building lab topologies, running deployment scripts, provisioning servers, verifying hardware and management access, troubleshooting cabling issues, and keeping precise documentation of equipment and IPs. Ideal candidates have two to five years in a network lab or data center, strong networking fundamentals and CCNA level knowledge, rack and stack, fibre and Ethernet cabling, and basic Linux; Bash or Python scripting and test equipment are a plus. Support the installation, deployment, and maintenance of networking equipment in a lab environment. This role focuses on hardware installation, basic device provisioning, cabling, and preparing test environments for engineering teams.
In this role, you will:
Install, rack, cable, and power networking equipment and servers.
Configure basic device settings (hostnames, user accounts, SSH, IP addressing).
Build and modify lab network topologies.
Run deployment scripts and perform basic server provisioning.
Verify hardware installation, network connectivity, and management access.
Troubleshoot basic hardware and cabling issues.
Maintain accurate documentation of equipment, rack layouts, and IP assignments.
Requirements
2–5 years of experience in a network lab, data center, or hardware deployment environment.
Strong networking fundamentals (CCNA-level knowledge).
Experience with rack and stack, fibre and Ethernet cabling, and basic Linux.
Experience with Bash/Python scripting or network test equipment is an asset.
