Join Novotel Queenstown Lakeside and be part of a dynamic Front Office team delivering exceptional guest experiences around the clock. We’re seeking a motivated Night Auditor to oversee the hotel’s overnight operations and ensure all daily transactions are balanced with precision.

About the Role

Working 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM, you will oversee front office operations, supporting guests, coordinating with all departments, and ensuring brand standards are maintained. You’ll also complete end-of-day financial processes, prepare the hotel for the day ahead, and confidently manage any overnight situations.

As part of this role, you’ll receive a night shift allowance for hours worked between 12:00 AM and 5:00 AM, in line with company policy.

Job Description

  • Supervise front office operations during the night shift and act as the hotel representative on duty.

  • Balance and audit all daily transactions from the front office, food & beverage, and other outlets.

  • Prepare and reconcile financial reports, ensuring accuracy of guest accounts and revenue postings.

  • Maintain strict security procedures to ensure guest safety, confidentiality, and property integrity.

  • Provide professional, efficient, and friendly service to all guests, handling any complaints or issues promptly.

  • Coordinate with Housekeeping, Maintenance, and other departments to meet operational and guest needs.

  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, cash-handling, and health & safety procedures.

  • Support and mentor overnight team members in line with company values and service culture.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months + experience in a hotel front office or related role will be advantageous.

  • Knowledge with Opera Cloud and MS Excel; understanding of basic accounting procedures will be advantageous.

  • Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with a focus on guest service.

  • Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions overnight.

  • Understanding of hotel operations, revenue, and reporting processes.

  • Ability to work weekends, public holidays and rotating roster.

  • Applicants must hold a valid visa to work in NZ and be able to commit long term to the role.

  • Wage $30.19 per hour
