Alfred Health has received Commonwealth funding via the Victorian Department of Health to provide a service allowing access to HIV Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) free of charge to people at risk of HIV who do not have Medicare access. This is an important initiative to assist in eliminating HIV transmission in Australia. The service will be delivered by The Victorian HIV Service and Melbourne Sexual Health Service. This position is based within The Victorian HIV Service working with an existing Nurse Practitioner to provide clinical leadership within the HIV Prevention Service which includes PrEP and Non Occupational Post Exposure Prophylaxis (NPEP) services. The role will provide clinical consultations at The Alfred and in outreach clinics along with leading the nursing team and overseeing their clinical care within the nurse led model of care in HIV Prevention.
