Job Description

  • Love what you do and leave your mark
  • Be based in either Sydney, or Adelaide
  • Investigate incidents and manage risk across the ALH Hotels for NSW/SA/TAS

As an Operational Security & Loss Prevention Specialist, you will act as a frontline risk management professional dedicated to protecting our team members, customers, and company assets, with a primary focus on our Hotels business.

Adopting a proactive and highly visible field-based approach, you will provide robust, hands-on support to state operational teams.

Your core function is to mitigate operational risk through balanced reactive response and proactive measures—including unannounced site assessments, investigating critical security incidents, conducting loss investigations, and driving the on-the-ground execution of our national risk strategies (including the 'At Risk' program).

Please note: This role requires dedicating the majority of working hours to an on-site presence within venues, balancing priorities across the roles portfolio and also requires availability to work a scheduled rotational weekend roster.

Sound good? Read on.

Here's a snapshot of the responsibilities:

  • Conduct and lead complex on-site investigations into internal theft, fraud, and significant cash or stock losses.
  • Analyse procedural irregularities and variance data to identify root causes, lead/support investigative interviews, and provide targeted training to high-variance venues to reduce errors.
  • Investigate critical security incidents and criminal activity to implement root-cause mitigation strategies.
  • Develop physical security programs ("target hardening" locations via physical security, alarms, and cash protection), provide immediate incident response, and coach venue leaders on best-practice controls.
  • Act as the local Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all risk and protection matters.
  • Prioritise and conduct unannounced, risk-based venue visits and holistic reviews to assess local risk levels, identify vulnerabilities, and deliver localised training.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Police, regulatory authorities, security vendors, and external partners.
  • Prepare detailed evidence briefs to support Police action and court outcomes.
  • Partner with Format Partners to assess and mitigate risks for new builds, renewals, and venue acquisitions, while contributing to company-wide risk policies, procedures, and training materials.

Qualifications

Now let’s talk about you:

  • You bring a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a comparable loss prevention role or within Endeavour Operations.
  • Proven experience in multi-site loss prevention or corporate security (Law enforcement experience is advantageous).
  • Demonstrated expertise in formal investigative techniques, including interviewing, evidence gathering, physical security controls, cash handling controls, and internal fraud prevention.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse, interpret, and present data points relating to loss prevention, translating insights into actionable risk strategies in a fast-paced environment.
  • You are a skilled communicator with strong lateral influencing skills, using a positive, coaching communication style to build rapport and engage with staff at all levels.
  • Work autonomously, manage dynamic workloads effectively, and maintain resilience under pressure.
  • You are a pragmatic problem-solver who leads effectively through ambiguity and thrives in an active, hands-on field role.
  • Previous Venue Management experience is highly regarded.
  • Proficiency in utilising Google Suite, Tableau, Google Slides and a thorough understanding of POS and gaming policies/procedures is desirable.
