Weta Workshop is hiring an Operations Manager to lead an 80 to 120 person crew across eight departments onsite in Miramar, Wellington. This role emphasizes safety, planning and delivery discipline, and continuous improvement while developing people. You will own safe systems for machinery, CNC, spray finishing, welding and lifting; manage the production schedule and change control; improve OTIF and WIP flow; and build cross training and skills matrices. Requirements include strong manufacturing leadership, safety know how, systems thinking, a calm low ego style; Lean or improvement experience and ERP MRP exposure such as Odoo are advantages. We’re looking for a highly collaborative Operations Manager to lead a continuous improvement, safety and people-first culture, and bring their systems thinking and process optimisation experience – to enable streamlined delivery of cost-efficient and high-quality production across a diverse array of manufactured work.
Unlike traditional production environments, our work is highly bespoke and creatively driven — requiring systems that support craftsmanship and innovation alongside delivery discipline.

It would be an advantage if you have experience in continuous improvement/Lean. Experience working in an environment with ERP/MRP is another plus (especially if you’ve used Odoo previously).
