About the role 

We have a permanent opportunity for a Manager Operations Project Delivery joining our operations services team. This role can be based at any Water Corporation location across WA.

In this senior leadership role, you will guide a diverse portfolio responsible for delivering capital projects, minor works, maintenance, complex operational programs, and ACWS-related activities across the state. You’ll be instrumental in shaping delivery strategy, driving consistency across teams, and supporting the Head of Operations Services to provide a centre of expertise for project delivery throughout WA.

This role is suited to a strategic leader who understands the complexities of water industry infrastructure and excels at creating cohesion, connection, and shared purpose across multidisciplinary teams spread across large geographic areas.

What the role will involve

  • Leading the end‑to‑end delivery of capital and non‑capital projects and programs, ensuring they meet performance, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Providing strategic direction for procurement approaches, including the negotiation and establishment of contracts for services, equipment, and works.
  • Maintaining accountability for financial and business performance across the portfolio, ensuring efficient resource utilisation and delivery against key objectives.
  • Working closely with planning, support teams, and other key stakeholders to standardise and optimise project delivery processes and practices across all delivery groups.
  • Building and sustaining constructive relationships with internal stakeholders across both Country and Metro Regions, as well as with external partners and contractors.
  • Representing the Water Corporation on relevant committees, working groups, and external bodies.
  • Acting as Principal’s Representative or coordinating Superintendent responsibilities on contracts as required.

About you

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Degree qualifications in engineering, project management, or a related discipline, with strong technical knowledge in engineering project controls.
  • Extensive experience delivering infrastructure projects, ideally within the water industry, with deep understanding of water assets, operational environments, and project delivery challenges.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary, geographically dispersed teams by fostering collaboration, clarity, cohesion and strong connection across varied work types.
  • The ability to identify and leverage the strengths and expertise of your team to ensure efficient and effective delivery across a diverse suite of programs and projects.
  • A strategic mindset with experience managing broad, complex project portfolios and delivering outcomes aligned with customer and organisational needs.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to collaborate, negotiate, and influence senior internal and external partners to achieve successful project outcomes.
