Bombardier seeks a 1st Shift Operations Supervisor in Wichita, KS, onsite at the Learjet service and completion center. You will lead a safety program, manage performance and development, handle timekeeping and hiring, coordinate planned and ad hoc maintenance, ensure work meets Repair Station and FAR requirements, monitor housing and facilities safety, engage with customers on Aircraft Maintenance when needed, and drive continuous improvement. Ideal candidates have at least 3 years in heavy/line aircraft maintenance, leadership experience, an A&P certificate or FAR Part 65, and familiarity with inspection systems, EHS rules, and computer tools. What are your contributions to the team?
- Encourage and promote a safe work environment by supervising a safety/security program
- Perform supervisory responsibilities such as performance & development management, time keeping, hiring, dismissals and lead/coordinate daily meetings
- Coordinate the completion of all planned and ad-hoc maintenance
- Ensure that work is performed in accordance with Repair Station/Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs)
- Monitor housing and facilities safety requirements and report any insufficiency
- Engage with customers regarding Aircraft Maintenance (where required)
- Identify and communicate best practices and champion continuous improvement initiatives
How to thrive in this role?
- You have 3 years of experience in performing aircraft heavy/line maintenance and inspection procedures
- You have leadership experience; Aircraft Maintenance (preferred)
- Possess an A&P certificate or certificated under FAR (part 65)
- Be familiar with aircraft inspection system & procedures
- Be familiar with Environmental, Health & Safety rules and regulations
- Have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Demonstrate effective leadership and coaching skills with the ability to develop people
- Have strong organizational and planning skills
- Possess proficient computer skills
