WM New Zealand is looking for an Operations Supervisor, Transport, to lead a team of about 10 drivers in the Christchurch Technical Services division, focusing on safety, route optimization, and reliable customer service for hazardous, medical and liquid waste. You will report to the Regional Manager and drive productivity and safety performance, coordinate maintenance, and partner with Sales, Despatch and Customer Service to resolve issues quickly. The right candidate brings proven frontline leadership, strong time management, and a zero-harm safety mindset, with knowledge of fatigue management and dangerous goods regulations; Class 4 license, forklift and Senior First Aid are desirable. Our WM New Zealand Technical Services Division is a specialist team of highly qualified staff with purpose-built processing facilities and specialised Dangerous Goods transport. Our Technical Services division can process hazardous, medical and liquid waste safely with full compliance to government and council laws and by-laws governing waste disposal of these products.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Supervisor to join our Technical Services team based in Bromley, Christchurch.
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the focus of this role will be to manage the productivity and safety performance of the transport fleet.

With high-quality standards and strong time management skills, you will be a safety and transport focused individual who is able to lead, influence and engage others to foster a positive continuous improvement culture. Working with a variety of people both internally and externally, you will have excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills to build solid, long-term relationships.
It is expected you will be committed to achieving workplace safety to ensure all relevant transport standards, procedures and job instructions are followed and we achieve ‘Zero Harm’ by championing & leading safety meetings on a regular basis.
Must have experience working in a similar leadership role specifically with hazardous and medical waste.
