Nutrien is hiring a full-time onsite Operator in Kennewick WA to manage railcar and truck loading and offloading, startup and shutdown of pumps and equipment, routine rounds, and minor maintenance while upholding safety. The role requires following operating procedures, basic computer use, mechanical and process troubleshooting, and a strong safety mindset in a demanding environment. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with the ability to read SOPs and work in a field setting; experience with dry products and acids or liquid fertilizer is a plus. What You'll Do:

 

  • Perform railcar and truck loading and offloading, startup, shutdown, and general operation of pumps, screws, belts, tanks, valves, and other process equipment
  • Conduct regular operational rounds to monitor equipment health
  • Perform some minor maintenance activities
  • Monitor and operate equipment and associated systems within standard operating conditions and limits
  • Assist with startup, shut down, and operation of processes and equipment from a field role
  • Respond to and appropriately addresses process and equipment upsets
  • Identify possible or current operating problems and recommend action to resolve any deficiencies in rate, quality, or mechanical operation
  • Safely handle of dry products, nitric acid and liquid fertilizer while loading rail cars and trucks
  • Perform minor maintenance and housekeeping duties
