Merck Group is hiring an Optical R&D Technician f/h to join the Innovation Team in Meylan. You will support R&D engineers in developing and optimizing optical setups for semiconductor inspection, run experiments, collect and analyze data, assist in design and testing, troubleshoot issues, and document processes while maintaining an organized optical lab. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor or BTS in Optics or Photonics with 3-5 years experience with optical components, lasers, detectors, and imaging systems; strong organizational skills; and fluent French and/or English with knowledge of the other. Your missions:
The position is integrated into the Innovation Team, reporting to the Head of Innovation, to support R&D engineers in the development of optical and optomechanical experimental setups:
Conduct experiments, collect and analyze data to validate performance and reliability of optical components and systems.
Assist in the design, assembly, and testing of experimental setups.
Troubleshoot and diagnose optical system issues to ensure optimal functionality.
Contribute to the documentation of processes and procedures.
Manage the optical laboratory, ensuring efficient organization and safety.
Your Profile:
Hands-on experience (3-5 years minimum) with optical components, optomechanical set-ups, lasers, detectors, and imaging systems.
Strong organizational skills.
Fluency in French and/or English with knowledge of the other language.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
