Job Description

Helping Hands Oakleigh is seeking an inspiring and motivated OSHC Coordinator to join our growing Helping Hands service. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a key leadership role where you’ll shape culture, drive quality, and make a genuine difference in the lives of children and your team.

This is a permanent, full-time role working across split shifts, Monday to Friday, including 8 hours of dedicated noncontact administrative time to support your success.

Service hours include:

  • Rise Then Shine: 6:30am – 9:00am
  • Stay and Play: 2:30pm – 6:00pm
  • School Holidays: Block shifts between 6:30am – 6:00pm

About your new role

As a Coordinator, you’ll be leading a team of passionate Educators and overseeing an engaging before- and after-school program for children aged 5-12 years. This role is all about leadership: 

  • Design and lead a vibrant, child‑centred program, filled with engaging experiences such as STEM, sport, cooking, arts and crafts.
  • Take ownership of rosters, daily operations, compliance, and administration, with time allocated to do this well.
  • Build a positive, inclusive team culture where Educators feel supported, motivated, and proud of the program they deliver.
  • Partner with families, the school community, and internal stakeholders to ensure the service continues to grow and thrive.
  • Be supported by experienced Regional Managers and a dedicated Support Office so you’re never doing it alone.

Qualifications

Who are we looking for? 

If you have a passion for supporting children, we’d love to hear from you! Here’s what we’re looking for: 

  • Working towards or completed a relevant qualification to work as a 2 Year Qualified Educator in QLD in accordance with ACECQA
  • National Child Safety Training completion prior to onboarding (via Gecko)  
  • A natural leader who enjoys guiding a team and helping others grow. 
  • Strong communication skills—you’ll be leading by example! 
  • A team player who inspires others and encourages growth. 
  • You have (or are willing to obtain) a National Police Check and Working with Children Check. 
  • Australian work rights.
