About the Opportunity

RACV is expanding its Travel & Experiences team, and we’re excited to offer a newly created role for an enthusiastic Outbound Travel Consultant, to help our customers and members travel and explore with confidence and ease.

As an Outbound Travel Consultant, you’ll be at the heart of RACV’s leisure services, assisting customers and members with bookings across a wide range of travel products. You’ll proactively engage with customers through outbound phone calls, support their travel planning, and help them make the most of their RACV membership benefits, to help them save more and redeem gift cards. Based in RACV head office, 485 Bourke Street CBD, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a professional and growing team, who play a key role in shaping member experiences.
Reporting to the Travel Team Leader, your key responsibilities for the role include:
Be flexible to book and provide customer service support for all Travel & Experience products
Deliver exceptional service via phone, email, and online channels
Proactively call members to support bookings, follow-ups, and experience management
Educate members on RACV Travel & Experiences offerings and savings
Maximise revenue through upselling and cross-selling
Resolve customer complaints and escalate when necessary
Maintain a knowledge of RACV services, local attractions, and tourism products
Contribute to team goals and support a member-first culture
Handle reservations for RACV leisure properties, partner accommodations, holiday packages, travel insurance, car hire, airport parking, and more
What you’ll need to be successful
Demonstrated experience in travel sales or sales related role, hotel reservations, customer service or travel insurance
Experience in Genesys Cloud telephony system, PMS Opera, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Powersuite and MS Office platforms
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Team player with a proactive mindset
Excellent time management and multitasking abilities, working in a fast paced environment
Ability to build rapport and handle customer escalations
A flair for identifying business opportunities
Professional personal presentation
Availability to work weekends and public holidays may be required on an ad hoc basis or in the future
