We are looking for a Packaging Engineer within the Global Packaging organization to focus primarily on the Global Skin Health Category which includes the innovative skincare brands of PCA SKIN, EltaMD, and Filorga.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support the conceptualization, design, development, engineering, and implementation of packaging projects for new packages, new processes, cost savings, and sustainability programs, often with agile and fast-paced project timelines

  • Manage comprehensive package testing procedures using onsite laboratory facilities, overseeing the entire lifecycle from planning and protocol development to execution, data analysis, and final report generation

  • Ensure all testing activities adhere to established quality standards, regulatory requirements, and internal specifications

  • Coordinate packaging line trials and attend component and manufacturing startups as needed to ensure accurate execution of design, function, and manufacturability

  • Complete essential project documentation, including package qualification plans, technology transfer documentation, final package component specifications, Bills of Materials, Manufacturing Specifications, and case/cube information

  • Prepare written and verbal technical summaries of packaging programs to clearly communicate technology benefits, business impact, timeline, costs, and risk to stakeholders.

  • Serve as the primary technical conduit for the internal creative/design team, providing and collecting all necessary parameters (e.g., dieline dimensions, color profiles, material specifications, and regulatory text) essential for developing production-ready artwork.

  • Partner with contract manufacturers and manufacturing facilities to ensure packaging equipment/material system specifications, functionality, and design are appropriate for use.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in packaging engineering, material science, mechanical or chemical engineering, or a related field

  • 2+ years experience in a packaging role

  • Experience in the conceptualization, design, development, engineering, or implementation of packaging projects 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in packaging engineering, material science, mechanical or chemical engineering, or a related field

  • Previous Lab Experience

  • Basic knowledge of various packaging formats (airless pumps, atmospheric pumps, tubes, sticks, jars, bottles, droppers)

  • Experience in artwork process, color matching, and package testing.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills in working with teams, project partners, and external third parties

  • Previous Work Study program (internship/co-op) focused on packaging engineering or packaging development

  • Proficiency with Google Suite (Slides, Docs, Gmail, etc.)


Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $76,800.00 - $107,500.00 USD

Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.

Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws.
