Universal Pictures International (UPI) owns and operates direct theatrical marketing and distribution of feature films in many locations around the globe including Austria, Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany, Italy, Korea, Mexico, Netherlands, Russia, Spain, Switzerland and UK & Eire.  In other territories UPI market and distribute movies through its JV offices, as well as in select territories, licensees who are contracted to distribute on UPl's behalf as well as production operations, a leading television stations group, and world-renowned theme parks.

 

Job Description

Works with National Partnerships teams in ANZ to participate in creative concepting, pitching and implementation of partner programs including provision of partnership assets, administration of sales decks, pitch lists and reporting, database management, prize sourcing, management of premiums and costume characters for Warner Bros priority titles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Partnerships & Promotions:

  • Work with Head of Partnerships ANZ to localise head office partnership strategy, participate in creative concepting brainstorms, create pitch documents for partnership proposals and actively participate in pitching to long term and new partners on a case-by-case basis.
  • Localisation of sales presenters to create generic pitch decks for partner agency outreach.
  • Maintain regular updates on pitch lists and report updates across the marketing team.
  • Facilitate creative approvals between head office and brand partners as part of program implementation.
  • Assist in the implementation of regular promotional activity with strategic long term brand partners including distribution of key art, advertising materials and trailers.
  • Pro-actively maintain database of brand contacts.
  • General support & participation in major campaigns and events as required.
  • Creation and distribution of promotional post-campaign reports.
  • Research potential partners for film specific promotions including competitor activity and media monitoring.
  • Sourcing leads and gather market intel to refine pitches to partnerships team.
  • Collaborate with Media leads to ensure maximum social media support for and by  brands.
  • Briefing prizing agency on partnership major prizing requirements and co-ordinating fulfillment  
  • Build long term strategic partnerships with media owners to negotiate critical promotional media assets.
  • Work on major sponsorship opportunities for premieres, creation of proposals and implementation.
  • Lead local partnerships strategy and brainstorms, as required.
  • Lead all communication with Head Office on global and local partnership updates and oversee all reporting.
  • Support Head of Partnerships leading an energetic and innovative partnerships team of ANZ executives.

3rd Party Contra Partnerships

  • Work with Warner business divisions including Home Entertainment, Streaming, Warner Music, Consumer Products and Licensing agency teams to unlock co-op advertising opportunities where relevant.
  • Work with external affiliate partners incl. licensees, book publishers and music distributors to unlock digital/social promotional opportunities where relevant
  • Negotiate contra of product with book publishers, music distributors, licensees

Trade Marketing Partnerships

  • Identify and develop cross promotion extensions for brand partners in the exhibition environment, to increase our dominance, achieve free exposure in theatres and amplify partner creative concepts. Actively bring brand contra, competitions, opportunities and media-worthy promotions to Exhibition Executives.

General

  • Participate in marketing group brainstorming to contribute ideas on all campaigns and titles.
  • Coordinate promotional activity including managing creative approvals with head office, maintaining the administration and monitoring of campaigns, prize fulfilment and post- campaign analysis and all reporting throughout campaign development.
  • Work with the National Publicist on any Costume Character tours to ensure brand & exhibitor needs are met.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements :

  • Proven and successful background in relevant partnerships management.
  • A demonstrated understanding of consumer partnerships, licensing and the theatrical landscape.
  • Superior relationship building skills.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate within a team and cross functional environment.
  • Ability to work autonomously + accept direction/input/feedback from multiple parties.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills with a great attention to detail.
  • Creativity and the ability to innovate.
  • Highly self-motivated, adaptable and resourceful.
  • Solid understanding of digital and social media and the application for partnerships.
  • High level of commercial acumen and ability for critical thinking

Desired Characteristics

  • Passion and knowledge of the media / film landscape
  • Tertiary education in communications or marketing-based discipline.
