An onsite, full-time Patient Assistant at NMC Healthcare in Abu Dhabi blends administrative support with direct patient care, requiring you to assist Registered or Practical Nurses while delivering practical, physical and holistic patient support. You will prepare patients for treatment, manage data entry and records, escort patients between departments, uphold patient rights, collect care information for planning and evaluation, and help maintain a safe, clean environment while handling equipment and supplies. Qualifications include Auxiliary Nursing or any Nursing qualification and 1–2 years of healthcare experience. The responsibilities of this position is to provide administrative/clerical support to the Registered / Practical Nurse in the assigned department. Provide practical, physical and holistic support to the patients.

  • Prepares patient for the treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient

  • Works under the direction and supervision of a Registered or Practical Nurse/Physician and assist with the data entry, record keeping and other clerical job in the clinic

  • Escorting patients between departments / completing financial reconciliation as needed

  • To know, follow and maintain patients’ rights

  • Gathering information about patients care needs and reporting to the Nurse to assist them in assessing, planning and evaluating care

  • Contributing to the maintenance of a safe and secure environment for patients and staff

  • Prepares periodic statistical reports such as quarterly clinic statistics and other statistical reports as required

  • Reports and assists with the investigation of all incidents within the workplace, including minor injuries, near hit and property damage

  • Educates patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions

  • Assist in documenting assigned department services by charting in patient records

  • Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential

  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

  • Influences and facilitates change within the department in order to improve standards of care

  • Promotes an environment that enables patient safety, independence, quality of life and health

  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols

  • Ensures operation of department’s equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories

  • Maintains department supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies

  • Performs all duties in a professional and confidential manner

  • Auxiliary Nursing / Any Nursing Qualification

  • Minimum 1-2 year of experience in healthcare set-up
