Hato Hone St John in Gisborne seeks a casual Patient Transfer Officer to deliver safe transport for Te Whatu Ora Health NZ, covering planned and urgent hospital transfers, residential care and palliative and bariatric patients. This casual role is on an as needed basis. Key requirements: full class 1 NZ driver’s license held 12 months with a clean record, First Responder qualification or training provided, confidence operating large vehicles with lights and sirens, good fitness, resilience and autonomy, plus strong interpersonal and customer focus. Play a vital role in ensuring a safe, comfortable, and reliable transport service for Te Whatu Ora Health NZ, private hospitals, and other customers. The Patient Transfer Service workload includes planned and urgent transfers for hospitals and transport for residential care, palliative care, bariatric and air ambulance patients. Hato Hone St John provides services to Te Whatu Ora Health NZ and is the largest provider of patient transfer services in New Zealand.
This is a casual position, casual employees are engaged on an as and when required basis with no expectation of guaranteed hours of work per week.
