Nord Anglia Education’s La Côte International School Aubonne is seeking a full time PE teacher for a maternity cover from December 2026 to October 2027. You will deliver physical education across the school, coordinate ski days and the broader ski programme, lead trips and residentials, support sport tournaments, and contribute to staff development while serving as a secondary home room teacher. Requirements include a Bachelor or Master in PE with QTS or equivalent, at least three years’ international teaching experience, strong skiing ability with race piste experience, fluency in English (French desirable), excellent communication and organization, first aid or willingness to obtain, a clear criminal record, and a valid work permit. Teacher of Physical Education (maternity replacement)
100% – from December 2026 to October 2027
Responsibilities:
- Deliver the teaching and learning of physical education throughout the whole school effectively
- Contribute to a programme of trips, excursions, fieldtrips and extracurricular activities
- Coordinate the school ski programme of ski days, residentials, ski club and ski team
- Lead and participate in primary and secondary winter and summer residential trips
- Lead and participate in the sports department residential trips
- Accompany the teams to sport tournaments
- Promote the health and safety of assigned classes
- Participate in professional development and contribute to regular staff training/meetings
- Enhance the professional standing of the teaching body
- Contribute to the development of a positive attitude between the physical education department and the wider community through cooperative relations, publications, competitions etc.
- Complete the role of a secondary school home room teacher each day
Qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor or Masters degree in physical education with QTS status or equivalent
- Must be a competent skier who can navigate intermediate to difficult terrain, including race pistes. Experience of racing and a ski qualification would be an advantage
- Proven track record of excellence in teaching with at least three years’ experience, ideally in an international environment
- Knowledge and proven experience in teaching physical education in early years and primary
- Experience in managing trips and/or ski programmes is an advantage.
- Fluency in English, ability to speak French would be desirable
- Excellent communication skills and team player
- Have the ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload
- Strong organisation skills and use of technology for administration and teaching
- First aid qualification or willingness to achieve this
