Pharmacy Cashier
WalgreensWalgreens is looking for a part-time Pharmacy Cashier to join its Phoenix, Arizona team. This onsite role sits at the store level, focusing on friendly, efficient checkout service and helping customers with questions about products and services. It’s a fit for someone who enjoys talking with people, handling cash and card transactions, and supporting a busy retail-pharmacy environment with a calm, helpful demeanor.
The job blends everyday retail tasks with a pharmacy-friendly touch, so you’ll be part of a team that values customer care and accuracy. If you like steady interactions with guests, keeping shelves tidy, and learning store systems, this could be a good match. It’s a straightforward way to contribute to a safe, inviting store experience while building experience in a pharmacy setting.
At Walgreens, the store aims to deliver a distinctive customer experience, and this role plays a key part in that promise. The position supports both the checkout experience and in-store operations, so you’ll work closely with customers, other team members, and the pharmacist on duty to keep things running smoothly.
A day at the counter in Phoenix
On a typical shift, you’ll ring up purchases on the assigned cash register, handle cash and change, and process returns, exchanges, and refunds as needed, always with courtesy and efficiency. You’ll also look for opportunities to help customers by suggesting items and, when possible, guiding them to OTC products or walking them to an aisle that might have what they’re seeking.
You’ll use pharmacy systems to check patient prescription status and, if you notice any prescription errors, you’ll report them to the pharmacist on duty in line with company policies and the Quality Improvement Program. Keeping the counters and shelves clean, well merchandised, and properly priced is part of the routine, as is maintaining accurate records and showing attention to store assets and loss prevention procedures.
Beyond the register, you’ll contribute to a neat, orderly store environment and participate in display construction and resets as directed. You’ll need to be comfortable with basic store equipment and systems, and you’ll support interior and exterior upkeep so the shop presents well to customers. The role also involves following all company policies and maintaining respectful relationships with coworkers while completing any special assignments that come up during a shift.
What you’ll need to bring to the job
- Fluency in reading, writing and speaking English
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours
- Six months of experience in a retail setting is helpful
- Prior Walgreens experience is a plus
