SEHA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for the Inpatient Pharmacy in Abu Dhabi, a full time on site role. You will assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications and IV admixtures, enforce compliance with federal and local regulations, maintain dispensing records, apply aseptic technique, and manage equipment, inventory, and unit inspections. You’ll contribute to medication distribution, address incidents and adverse drug reactions, participate in training and quality improvement, and support new staff orientation while safeguarding patient confidentiality. Requirements include a diploma from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program, current national license, and at least 2 years of pharmacy practice (not in sales or retail).  Assists  pharmacists  in  the  preparation  and  distribution  of  drugs,  medications,  and  intravenous admixtures.



•   Complies with federal and local rules and regulations in regard to pharmacy activities and with medication management and use policies and procedures. 
•   Assists pharmacist in preparation and dispensing of medications. 
•   Calculates and compound ingredients required to prepare extemporaneous preparations and IV solutions under pharmacist supervision. 
•   Performs double checks on the prepared medications. 
•   Maintains the required records of dispensing. 
•   Follows proper aseptic technique and IV room procedures in preparation of IV admixtures. 
•   Ensures and maintains medication proper storage conditions. 
•   Performs inspections of nursing units to assure safe and secure storage of medications. 
•   Operates and maintains pharmaceutical equipment according to policies and procedures 
•   Conducts checks and calibration of equipment as required 
•   Ensures that the equipment is used in the correct manner to obtain optimal results and report to supervisor if equipment malfunction and/or need for repair. 
•   Maintains cleanliness of equipment taking into consideration general organization hygienic and sterilization rules and regulations 
•   Participates in the medication distribution process as applicable 
•   Ensure that medications are stored appropriately and securely. 
•   Maintain sufficient inventory of medications, material supplies and equipment including expiry management, variance management and recalls) 
•   Respond to incidents, adverse drug reactions, medication errors, and report appropriately. 
•   Perform shift duties as assigned, including weekends and public holidays. 
•   Perform other related duties as assigned 
•   Assist in training and coaching pharmacy technicians. 
•   Ensure implementation of quality improvement initiatives in regard to relevant service areas. 
•   Ensure patient confidentiality. 
•   Participate in training and education sessions for department staff and other healthcare professionals in the safe and secure handling of drugs and equipment as assigned. 
•   Participate in the orientation and training of new employees as assigned. 
•   Ensure appropriate internal and external sharing of information based on governing policies and procedures. 
•   Maintain updated professional knowledge. 
•   Complete and maintain all regulatory requirements including licensure and certification and other mandatory training within established time frames.

Experience :-  
Required: 
•   NLT 2 yrs. experience of Pharmacy Practice. 
•   Experience as a sales representative or in a drug store is not acceptable.

 Educational Qualification: Required: 
•   Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program NLT 2 year’s duration resulting in being awarded a diploma in Pharmacy. 
•   Current National License
