Summary

The Postdoctoral Associate will be responsible for the biochemical and functional characterization of the specimens and all aspects of structure determination using CryoEM/ET techniques. The applicant must have a Ph.D. in Structural Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or closely related fields. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in protein expression and purification, enzyme kinetics, drug design, X-ray crystallography, single-particle cryoEM, and computational biology. Salary will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and based on the NIH postdoctoral stipend scale.

Job Duties

  • Works for the biochemical and functional characterization of the specimens and all aspects of structure determination using either or both X-ray crystallography and CryoEM/ET techniques. 
  • Performs lab techniques that inclues protein expression and purification, enzyme kinetics, drug design, X-ray crystallography, single-particle cryoEM, and computational biology. 
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have a Ph.D. in Structural Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or closely related fields.
  • Experience in protein expression and purification, enzyme kinetics, drug design, X-ray crystallography, single-particle cryoEM, and computational biology is highly desirable. 
  • Has good communication skills and has the ability to work independently.
