UC's P&G Digital Accelerator@UC seeks a Postdoctoral Modeling & Simulation Scientist/Engineer with a PhD in Chemical or Materials Engineering or related field to be based onsite in Cincinnati, OH, and build multi-physics, system-level models of coupled transport, thermodynamics, and kinetics in heterogeneous media such as skin and fabrics. You’ll translate physics into predictive, end-to-end process models to guide design, scale-up, and optimization, defining system boundaries and interfaces across product, process, and environment. Essential: first-principles modeling, process systems engineering, multi-scale frameworks, and strong Python or R skills; experience with gPROMS, Modelica, Pyomo; knowledge of skin or soft materials is a plus. Apply internally via SuccessFactors or through the UC applicant portal with a tailored CV and a concise statement of your modeling approach, collaboration examples, and impact.

Next Lives at the University of Cincinnati
Founded in 1819, the University of Cincinnati ranks among the nation’s best urban public research universities. Home to more than 53,600 students, 12,000 faculty and staff, and over 360,000 living alumni, UC, a Carnegie 1 institution, combines research prowess with a physical setting The New York Times has called “the most ambitious campus design program in the country." UC's momentum has never been stronger as the anchor of the Cincinnati Innovation District, the oldest cooperative education (co-op) program in the country with students earning $94 million annually through paid experiences, an academic health system, and as a member of the Big 12 Conference. The university contributes $10.6 billion in economic impact to the city and $22.7 billion to the state of Ohio. At UC, next is all of us. Learn more at uc.edu.
UC is a mission-driven organization where we are committed to student success and positively transforming the community through scholarship and service. We thrive on innovation, making an impact, and fostering an environment where staff and faculty are key contributors to UC’s success.
The P&G Digital Accelerator@UC is seeking a Modeling & Simulation Scientist/Engineer (Postdoctoral) with a strong foundation in systems and process engineering to drive product and process innovation through the development and application of multi-physics, system-level models.
The role focuses on understanding, designing, and optimizing complex, coupled systems involving mass and heat transport in heterogeneous media such as human skin, moist air, and multilayer materials and fabrics. These systems are governed by interacting transport processes, thermodynamics, and reaction equilibria. A key expectation is the ability to translate physical phenomena into predictive, end-to-end process models that support decision-making, scale-up, and performance optimization.
