This role is pivotal in bridging our Headquarters' technical vision with the specific requirements of the European market. You will focus on the functional integration of powertrain systems (including Battery, Motor, and Electronic Control), with a strong emphasis on charging adaptability, competitive benchmarking, and ensuring our powertrain solutions to meet local customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Powertrain Functional Integration:
- Lead the functional integration and validation of the E-Powertrain system (Battery, E-Motor, MCU) for European vehicle models.
- Define and review functional requirements and specifications to ensure system compatibility and performance.
- Troubleshoot complex system interaction issues occurring in EU markets.
- Charging System Adaptation & Optimization:
- Responsible for the adaptability testing and validation of XPeng’s charging systems against European charging infrastructure (AC/DC charging stations, V2G, Plug & Charge).
- Analyze and resolve interoperability issues between the vehicle and various local charging operators (CPO) and standards (CCS2).
- Monitor and analyze "Voice of the Customer" (VOC) regarding charging experiences; translate user feedback into technical improvements.
- Benchmarking & Market Analysis:
- Conduct comprehensive benchmarking of competitor EVs in the European market, focusing on powertrain efficiency, charging curves, and thermal management strategies.
- Provide technical insights and reports to HQ to influence future product roadmap and competitiveness.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Act as the key technical liaison between the German R&D Center and the Powertrain Integration Department at the Engineering HQ in China.
- Work closely with the overseas testing team to formulate test plans, track progress, and analyze test data.
- Facilitate effective communication to ensure technical solutions are correctly understood, formulated, and executed across borders.QualificationsQualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in EV powertrain system integration and/or charging system development.
- Solid understanding of EV architecture and the powertrain systems.
- Familiarity with European charging standards and the local charging infrastructure landscape is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent cross-cultural communication and coordination abilities.
- Proficiency with automotive diagnostic and calibration tools (e.g., CANoe, CANape, INCA).
- Languages:
- Fluent in English (working language).
- Proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin) is highly preferred (to communicate with HQ).
- German language skills are a strong plus.
