SEHA is hiring a Practical Nurse for Sakina CAMHS AD Ward D1A in Abu Dhabi. This full-time onsite role requires delivering age-appropriate, patient-centred nursing under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, upholding the Professional Nurses Code of Conduct, and maintaining accurate documentation while adhering to SEHA policies and infection control standards. The Practical Nurse is not licensed for independent practice and remains responsible and accountable for his/her own actions.

  1. To maintain a high standard of nursing care for patients, working within evidence based guidelines and unit specific competencies.
  2. Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, assess and implement nursing care for patients ensuring a patient centred approach to care.
  3. Under the direction of the Registered nurse, assist in the activities of daily living for patients in accordance with the patient care plan e.g. distribution of patient meals and assisting patients with hygiene needs.
  4. Demonstrates service excellence and acts as a patient advocate to support the patient’s dignity and rights at all times
  5. Understands the basic indications for medications, recognizes side effects and reports to the Registered Nurse appropriately.
  6. Ensures the registered nurse is informed of observations and care provided for patients and documents appropriately.
  7. Reports any significant changes in the patients condition to a Registered Nurse immediately.
  8. Responds to all levels of emergencies according to the organizations policies and procedures.
Communication
  1. Demonstrates knowledge in and compliance with the completion of documentation in an appropriate timeframe according to BE policies and guidelines.
  2. Demonstrates ability to navigate Malaffi accurately and efficiently within scope of practice.
  3. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team in the management of effective and efficient patient centred care in a professional manner.
  4. Promotes and supports a collaborative practice model.
  5. Communicate effectively and clearly with patients, carers and all healthcare professionals
  6. Contributes effectively to the support of new staff, nursing students and other staff.
Performance Improvement/Risk Management
  1. Understands the process of complaint management, takes action to resolve where possible and reports as per organisational policy.
  2. Assist registered nurses and clerical staff in administrative duties as required
  3. Ensures provision of a clean and safe working environment that minimizes risks to patients and family 
  4. Identifies risk in the environment, escalates and maintains records of reporting if appropriate
  5. Demonstrates knowledge of and is compliant with isolation precautions and hand hygiene
  6. Is compliant with all annual mandatory Health and Safety training as per BE policy
  7. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of International and HAAD patient safety goals.
  8. Participate, contribute and implement quality assurance standards as per local guidelines
Education
  1. Assess patient and family education needs, plan for and provide and evaluate outcome.
  2. Assist to provide a suitable environment that supports educational needs.
  3. Ensures patient and family are provided with comprehensive written information and resources to meet their health care needs.
  4. Engages in health promotion activities in the healthcare organization and community.
Professional Responsibilities

 

  1. Assist with the orientation of new staff and promotes a learning environment.
  2. Completes mandatory and unit specific competencies and demonstrates ongoing compliance with appropriate evidence.
  3. In conjunction with but not limited to the Manager / Charge Nurse / CRN, identifies own professional learning needs and develops al learning plan as required.
  4. Initiates or participates in clinical research that contributes to continual improvement in standards of care.
  5. Develops and maintains own Professional Portfolio 
  6. Obtains accredited and non-accredited Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) Units in compliance with DOH requirements.
General

  2. The Assistantl Nurse will also be expected to contribute to the wider corporate and organisational development needs of the   organisation as appropriate within scope of practice.
  3. The Assistantl Nurse will be expected to ensure compliance with the requirement of the Health and Safety regulations of the organisation.

Qualification :- 

Diploma of nursing not less than 18 month’s course duration.
