NZIS seeks a Pre-Police & Uniformed Services Tutor for its Mount Wellington Auckland campus, full time, on site. You will lead an 18-week preparation programme, bringing your uniformed services background to life through practical delivery, lead physical training, and mentor students from diverse backgrounds while tracking progress. You will nurture confidence, resilience and teamwork and align the curriculum with evolving industry needs. Credible service experience, strong communication and the ability to inspire learners toward Defence forces careers are essential. About the role:
As a Uniformed Services Tutor, you’ll guide learners through our dynamic 18-week Pre-Police and Uniformed Services preparation Programme. Drawing on your own service experience, you’ll coach students through the physical, technical and professional skills they need to thrive in uniformed services environments. You’ll help build their confidence, resilience, teamwork, and communication to meet the demands of careers across the Defence forces sector.

About you:
You have a solid background in the uniformed services- whether it’s the Armed Forces, Police, Corrections, Security - and a passion for developing and inspiring the next generation of recruits. You’re ready to use your real-world experience to guide students through a programme designed to build their fitness, confidence, technical skills, and preparation for the range of services.
You’re a positive, engaging communicator who connects well with young people and values cultural diversity. Your ability to motivate others- both in practical training sessions and classroom activities- helps learners reach their full potential.
