WSP in the Middle East is seeking an experienced Principal Consultant – Ground Engineering to join our growing team in the Middle East. This is a leadership role for a seasoned geotechnical professional who will drive technical excellence, manage complex projects, and support business growth across major infrastructure and development programmes in the region.

  • Lead the delivery of complex geotechnical and ground engineering projects across infrastructure, buildings, and transport sectors
  • Provide technical leadership and assurance on design, analysis, and construction-related challenges
  • Act as a subject matter expert in ground engineering, supporting multidisciplinary project teams
  • Oversee site investigations, ground modelling, risk assessment, and foundation design
  • Engage with clients, stakeholders, and contractors to ensure successful project execution
  • Support bid preparation, proposals, and business development activities
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence
  • Ensure compliance with international standards, local regulations, and WSP quality frameworks
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering / Geotechnical Engineering
  • 12–15+ years of relevant experience in geotechnical / ground engineering
  • Proven experience working on large-scale infrastructure or multidisciplinary projects
  • Strong expertise in foundation design, earthworks, retaining structures, and ground improvement techniques
  • Experience in the Middle East is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage client relationships
  • Membership of a recognised professional body (e.g., ICE, IGS, or equivalent) is highly desirable
