Kanadevia Inova North America seeks a Principal Data Scientist to lead the design, development, validation, and deployment of AI, ML, optimization, and analytics solutions tackling strategic waste-to-value challenges. As the AI and Data Science SME, you will drive adoption of best practices, define standards for experimentation, MLOps, monitoring, explainability, and lifecycle management, and collaborate with product, engineering and business teams to shape use cases and architecture. The ideal candidate has a track record delivering multiple production-grade AI/ML solutions end to end, strong cloud, data engineering and software development skills, and proven leadership translating business needs into scalable, governance-conscious outcomes. Onsite in Zürich, full-time. No agency applications.

Job Description

• Lead the design, development, validation, and deployment of advanced AI, machine learning, optimization, and analytics solutions for strategic business challenges.
• Act as the organization's AI and Data Science subject matter expert, driving adoption of best-in-class methodologies and emerging technologies.
• Define and maintain standards for experimentation, model validation, MLOps, monitoring, explainability, and lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to develop AI-driven use cases, influence product strategy, and guide architecture decisions.
• Mentor technical teams, promote innovation and analytical thinking, and ensure AI solutions meet regulatory, security, and governance requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering multiple production-grade AI/ML solutions from concept through operations.
• Strong expertise in machine learning, MLOps, cloud platforms, data engineering, and software development practices.
• Experience across the full AI solution lifecycle, including PoC, MVP, industrialization, deployment, and support.
• Demonstrated technical leadership with a successful track record of mentoring and developing technical talent.
• Relevant industry experience and the ability to translate business needs into scalable AI-driven solutions.
