Snowflake is looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager to lead the AI Product and Engineering team in Menlo Park, onsite, full time, delivering Snowflake AI strategy across product and platform. You’ll bridge AI engineers with platform teams, unblock progress, and decide when a feature belongs in the product versus the platform. Expect to own critical programs, manage risks, and apply data driven judgment while mentoring others. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in cloud engineering, 2+ years in AI/ML with LLM lifecycle skills, SQL and data viz fluency, and cross functional influence. Tips: tailor your resume to show measurable outcomes and concrete examples of streamlining workflows and ownership; be ready to discuss planning cycles, risk mitigation, and accountability. We are seeking a Technical Program Manager to join the AI Product and Engineering team, responsible for delivering Snowflake's AI strategy. This role has broad potential scope from bridging the gap between AI platform and customer-facing products, to working with AI engineers to deliver specialized solutions to solve our customer’s most challenging problems.
You’ll need to be comfortable with ambiguity and rapid innovation. This is a role about unblock progress and streamlining efforts for efficiency and scale. You will be the glue between product-focused AI engineers and the underlying platform teams. You’ll need to know when a feature should be built into the product and when it needs to be pushed down into the platform for long-term scale.
Be responsible for defining and delivering critical programs with broad organizational, business and technical impact.
Identify, manage and mitigate both technical and business risks that otherwise threaten the success of the efforts you work on.
Bring strong, data-driven and strategic technical judgment to decision making.
Partner with and influence Engineering, Product Management and and Data Science teams to execute effectively and deliver high-quality, highly-reliable, impactful products.
Identify and fix inefficiencies in how teams collaborate and execute – not by adding meetings or creating processes, but by streamlining workflows, automating handoffs, and clarifying ownership.
Work closely with leadership stakeholders to drive quarterly and annual planning, to set ambitious goals and to hold each other accountable.
Amplify your impact by educating and mentoring the TPM and Engineering communities on program management best practices
10+ years of demonstrated industry experience and expertise leading large complex engineering projects in cloud-based technologies
2+ years in AI/ML Engineering Environments: You have hands-on experience with the LLM lifecycle (RAG, fine-tuning, prompt engineering) and the infrastructure required to scale them. You understand the trade-offs between different model architectures and inference strategies.
You are comfortable using SQL and data visualization tools to analyze program health, identify engineering bottlenecks, and back up your decisions with hard data.
Strong technical understanding and judgment to dive deeply into sophisticated software systems, work with stakeholders to develop solutions and identify technical risks and tradeoffs.
A strong sense of curiosity about how things work and why people behave the way they do.
Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, product management, data science, customers, and other functions throughout the product life cycle.
An ability to thrive in the context of ambiguity, dynamic business forces, and competing priorities.
Strong program management skills with technical and business acumen.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adaptively interact with technical and non-technical groups at all levels of seniority.
Exceptional ability to build relationships, understand organizations and, ultimately, the ability to persuade others to accomplish program objectives while holding yourself and your own stakeholders to a high standard of accountability.
BS/MS/PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields or equivalent practical experience
Snowflake is growing fast, and we’re scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth. We are looking for people who share our values, challenge ordinary thinking, and push the pace of innovation while building a future for themselves and Snowflake.
