Teck Resources invites applications for the Process Engineering Co‑op at Trail Operations in Trail, BC, a major zinc and lead smelting complex. This 8‑month, on‑site term starts January 2026 and targets students pursuing Chemical, Metallurgical or related Engineering degrees who are enrolled in a Canadian post‑secondary program and returning to school afterward. You’ll report to a senior engineer and contribute to safety leadership, process development, plant optimization, data analysis, and lab testing, with mentorship from experienced engineers. Must be eligible to work in Canada, willing to relocate or commute, and have a valid driver’s license; Python, SQL and MS Office are assets. Pay CAD 5,000–6,000 per month plus travel support and development opportunities. Rolling deadlines.

Teck’s Trail Operations, located in the community of Trail in British Columbia, is one of the world’s largest fully integrated zinc and lead smelting and refining complexes. Located in the beautiful West Kootenay region of southeastern, British Columbia, Trail offers outdoor adventure at your fingertips.
For this exciting position, we are specifically targeting students pursuing their post-secondary degree in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering, or related field. This student will be reporting to a senior Engineer.
Application Deadline: October 30, 2025 (we will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis)
Minimum Qualifications: Must currently be enrolled in a recognized and accredited Canadian post-secondary institution throughout the duration of the co-op term. You must also be returning to a post-secondary institution after the co-op term is completed. If you are not currently located in the area of this co-op position, you must be willing to either commute or relocate to the surrounding area for the entire duration of the co-op term. Proof of a valid work permit will also be required, if applicable.
Desired Background: We are specifically seeking students who are eager to learn new skills in metallurgy and gain hands-on experience in an operating plant environment. Preference will be given to candidates who have previous experience working in a safety-sensitive environment.

Pay Range: CAD $5,000 - $6,000 per month
